Wines of Tejo Return to New York City!

Wines from the venerable Portuguese region of Tejo were presented at a media lunch pairing in New York City last year, and my article on the selections presented highlighted a few vintages that were crisp and full of fresh citrus fruit and balanced acidity. (It’s Not Just About Touriga Nacional: International and Indigenous White Varietals from Portugal’s Venerable Tejo Region. These vintages were created from indigenous white varietals, including the aromatic Fernao Pires, and showcased the range and quality coming out of Portugal’s wine producing regions owing in part to more modern equipment, lower yields and commitment to the practice of planting only those types of grapes that are suited to a given soil.

Wines from Tejo returned to New York City this year and the selection was paired with sustainable Mediterranean cuisine from Amali restaurant. A number of noteworthy and well priced white and red vintages made from several indigenous Portuguese varietals were presented.
